Loan Support Specialist 

Job Description 

This position requires an individual with the ability to multi-task, good organizational skills, and attention to detail.   

The ideal candidate is one that can prioritize tasks, exhibit a professional demeanor with members, and credit union staff while working in a fast-paced work environment. 

Job Responsibilities 

This individual will support lending staff and all lending activities to include but not limited to: 

Lien Perfection 

– Collection of required documentation necessary to perfect the credit union’s security interest in titled and non-titled collateral. 

Loan Exception Resolution 

– Monitoring and resolving outstanding loan exceptions related to missing vehicle titles, unperfected liens and documentation reflecting the credit union’s insurable interest in collateral. 

Insurance 

– Coordination with the credit union’s insurance vendor in submitting evidence of insurance and resolution of member issues related to notices and/or force placed coverage. 

Post Close Loan Review 

– Support lending staff in completing post-close loan review as necessary prior to compliance review. 

 Loan Processing 

Ability to process loan requests from application to funding.  To include generation of loan documents and closing of loans as necessary. 

Real Estate Reporting 

– Monitoring members’ real estate property taxes on a quarterly basis and updating the real estate portfolio file as required. 

Credit Reporting 

– Submit monthly reporting to credit reporting agencies to ensure timely information is provided. 

Claim Support 

Provide general support to members for debt protection, GAP and extended warranty claims as needed.  

Loan Policy 

– Understanding of credit union general loan policy and ability to communicate as necessary to staff and members.

Job Responsibilities

This individual will perform operations tasks to include but not limited to:

Member Service

-Serve our members both in person and over the phone by making deposits, withdrawals, transfers, wires, loan payments, cash checks, printing Debit/ATM cards etc.

New Accounts

-Opening new member accounts, term share certificates, IRA’s.

 Back Office

-Debit card Disputes, File Maintenance, RMD’s, Mailing notices, Compliance duties, Audits, Exception item processing, ChexSystems reporting and other duties as assigned.
